New week with great sport events

I can hardly wait to follow the highly interesting sport events being held next week. The ski season comes to the end whereas the Formula 1 begins.

The last ski races of the season begin on Wednesday. The best men and women of the ski rankings go to the start for the final downhill. Starting from Wednesday and up to Sunday there will be many races which will bring out the best skiers in each discipline. On battle for the overall title are 4 racers involved. Höfl-Riesch and Fenninger are separated by a tiny number of points whereas Hirscher and Svindal also weite a great final chapter at the end of the winter season. 25 skiers are qualified per discipline for the finals in Switzerland. The ski-resort Lenzerheide will host two races a day because both men and women still have one more race in every discipline (downhill, super-g, giant slalom, slalom). I am sure that ski fans will see the best race kf the season. It's a pity that the new Transylvanian star, Edit Miklos, didn't manage to qualify for the final downhill. Her points were not enough for a place among the best 25 even if she finished 5th the last downhill held in Crans Montana. Anyway, I am sure that her best season is still to come, I believe that she will belong to the very best downhill specialists next year. People start to know her, she has a huge potential and will definitely step on the podium in the future. I wish her all the best!

Another great event of the week is the F1 GP in Australia. The first stage of the season is hosted by Melbourne where big surprises are expected. There are new motors and innovative technical developments. According to the latest tests, Mercedes amd Ferrari are on the top. Red Bull still needs a period of time for improving the new car, experts said. The manager of the team explained how RB constructors were focused on the team title during the last few races of 2013, that's why they began working on the new model too late. Former F1 star, Niki Lauda, is confident that Mercedes drivers are in good shape and the Rosberg-Hamilton pair builds a great team with different driving styles. Further, we should never forget experienced racers öoke Alonso or Raikkonen, in my opinion they form the best pair of the season.

Csíkiak Szocsiban - új oldal a Facebookon

Kedves sportrajongók!

Nincs nagyobb sportesemény az olimpiánál. Nincs nagyobb álom annál, mint sportolóként részt venni az ötkarikás játékokon. És nincs az a téli olimpia, amelyről hiányozhat csíki sportoló.

Így van ez idén is. Pénteken kezdődnek a játékok, az oroszországi Szocsi kerül rivaldafénybe. Négy csíki sportoló utazott el az olimpia helyszínére: Tófalvi Éva, Szőcs Emőke (mindketten sílövészet), Miklós Edit (alpesi sí) és Kelemen Zoltán (műkorcsolya) fogja képviselni Csíkországot.

Sportolóink viszont nem egy zászló alatt vonulnak fel a megnyitó ünnepségen. Tófalvi Éva zászlóvivője lesz a romániai delegációnak, ő immár ötödik olimpiáján fog rajthoz állni. Mögötte fog tündökölni Kelemen Zoltán, aki műkorcsolyában szeretné elbűvölni a sportág szerelmeseit. A másik két csíki sportcsillag Magyarországot képviseli az olimpián. Miklós Edit ebben a szezonban magyar sítörténelmet írt (12. hely a világkupán), de kitűnő lesíklónk még nem érkezett el a fejezet végére. Szőcs Emőke biatlonban remél jó eredményt, ő Tófalvival együtt Márton Simon tanár úr keze alól került a csúcssportolók körébe. Emőkét Szocsiban egy többszörös olimpikon, a gyergyótekerőpataki Antal Zsolt látja el tanácsokkal.

A Csíkiak Szocsiban című oldal egy gyümölcsöző együttműködés eredménye. A kezdeményező neve Pál-Pál Előd (műsorvezető, tolmács), akit számos nemzetközi sportrendezvény többnyelvű kommentátoraként ismerhettek meg a sportbarátok. Az ötletet támogatta Csíkszereda Megyei Jogú Város Önkormányzata, így a városvezetés hozzájárulásának köszönhetően megvalósulhatott ez a nemes projekt: megismerhetjük olimpikonjainkat, követhetjük őket, olvashatunk róluk, nézhetjük fényképeiket és napirenden lehetünk a részletes versenyprogrammal.

Cheering for the Szeklers in Sochi

I am proud to deliver some great news from the sport's world. The Sochi Olympics are even closer and many of my friends or simply people I know managed to qualify for the supreme sporting competition. The games begin at the beginning of February, there are just few weeks left until the creme-a-la-creme will compete for a precious medal in Russia.

So, there are people from my home region, Szeklerland, who will definitely be there. It's great to know that my county (Hargita/Harghita) sends a signifficant part of the Romanian squad to the 2014 Olympics. Obviously, in my hometown, the coldest place in Romania, it is no wonder that young people start practicing winter sports. Primarily, guys do hockey or skiing, but skating is also popular. And, as we know that the Szeklers are motivated people who are eager to achieve their goals, many of the ambitious athletes manage to accomplish their mission by going to the winter games.

This year, a number of talented persons will do the same. Here are some examples:

Eva Tofalvi (biathlon): the highly-experienced blonde biathlete is the symbol of the Romanian winter sports. She will compete at her fifth Olympics after Nagano, Salt Lake City, Torino and

Vancouver. She is at the end of her career in which she even managed to step on the top of the podium in a World Cup race. Her olympic personal best is the 11th place. This year she had a challenging battle versus her local rival, Reka Ferencz, for getting a boarding card to the Caucasus. Finally, the domestic biathlon association decided in favour of Tofalvi taking her current good form in consideration.

Zoltan Kelemen (figure skating): being qualified for his second Olympics, Zoltan is a magnifficent sportsman who is known exclusively for his performances as a skater. You cannot meet him in clubs, cannot hear a bad word from him and you will always see him behaving like a real professional. He just finished 14th at the euro champs in Budapest and ended his short program on the 22nd position.

Edit Miklos (alpine skiing): the almost 26 year old strength box is a fully talented woman. She started her career as a little kid who never had a real opponent for the first place. She was always dominating, fighting, going further. Edit won all the possible cups and titles in Romania and participated at the Vancouver Olympics representing the country where she was born. Afterwards she chose a new way and started to compete for Hungary. There are many top 30 races in her world cup career, she even caught a 12. place earlier this year. Edit won many international races, came in to the top 20 at the World Champs and sees good chances to set her personal best in Sochi.

Emoke Szocs (biathlon): running for Hungary as well, Emoke is listed for Sochi in the biathlon discipline. She was born in M-Ciuc/Csikszereda and has many domestic titles. She saw better chances in a team without rivals, so she starts for the neighbours. Actually, it has to be mentioned, the Szeklers have Hungarian nationality and thanks to the Hungarian government, now they have the right to ask for the citizenship as well. That's how Miklos and Szocs can compete for the Gulyas' country.

Zsolt Antal, Simon Marton (coaches): having a shining career behind them, the two coaches support their Szekler athletes. Mr. Marton has been training Tofalvi for decades leading her to fantastic results. Zsolt Antal raced at four editions of the Winter Olympics as a cross-country skier before he switched to a new trainer career. He goes to Sochi to prepare the skis of Emoke Szocs.

So, dear friends of sports! There are some friends of mine qualified for the greatest winter hit ever! They will be there in Sochi, so I kindly ask you to cheer for them and say: Hajra Szekelyek! Come on Szeklers!

Mai vine zăpada?

Iată că ne aflăm la jumătatea lui decembrie și încă ducem lipsa zăpezii. Aici la Viena nici măcar nu se vorbește de zăpadă, chiar dacă temperaturile au scăzut brusc. Totuși, eu cred că iarna nu începe cu adevărat atâta timp cât nu ninge. Atmosfera adevărată de iarnă se cunoaște doar în compania zăpezii. Care ar putea fi altfel diferența dintre toamnă și iarnă?

Ei bine, capitala Austriei cunoaște diferența. La sfârșitul toamnei se deschid numeroasele târguri de Crăciun și Viena se îmbracă în costum de sărbătoare. La peste 250 de standuri se poate consuma vinul fiert și alte bunătăți speciale. Cu ocazia cumpărăturilor de Crăciun, orașul devine plin de turiști. Oameni din toate colțurile lumii vin la Viena să viziteze un oraș care își răsfață oaspeții cu tot ce are mai bun. 

Recunosc, și eu savurez atmosfera de sărbătoare. Reușind să scap de obligațiile ce mă atașează la lucrarea de disertație sau la traduceri, mai ies din când în când să scap de monotonismul de zi cu zi. E greu să găsesc echilibrul între distracție și muncă atâta timp cât sunt înconjurat de îndeletniciri ce mă preocupă în fiecare zi. Din fericire, însă, traversăm o lună care ne atinge adânc sufletul. În ciuda programului încărcat parcă zburăm inconștienți cu gândul acasă, acolo unde ne este locul. Să fim alături de familie, de cei dragi! Ce ar putea fi mai plăcut decât asta? 

Ei bine, mai frumos ar fi dacă am și ajunge acolo unde ne întâmpină căldura familiei. Să fim prezenți în acel loc, și nu numai sufletește dar și fizic, desigur! Mai sunt 10 zile până la Crăciun și văd pe toate rețelele de socializare cum prietenii, amicii mei din toată lumea se pregătesc să se întoarcă acasă. Simt că toți avem aceeași dorință, avem aceleași gânduri. Eu sunt optimist și cred că toți vom avea parte de aceleași bucurii: zile de poveste cu cei dragi, acasă! 

Erdélyi püspökökre emlékeztek Bécsben

Nagyszabású tudományos konferenciára került sor a bécsi Collegium Hungaricum épületében. Október 15-én az osztrák fővárosban székelő Balassi Intézet első alkalommal adott otthont a „Márton Áron és Jakab Antal gyulafehérvári püspökök emlékezete Bécsben” című előadássorozatnak.

A konferenciát Simon Ferenc esperes, az ausztriai magyarok főlelkésze nyitotta meg. A résztvevőknek átadta eminenciás Christoph Schönborn bécsi bíboros üdvözletét, és többek között kihangsúlyozta, hogy Márton Áron püspök gondolkodásban megelőzte korát, életképe még ma is aktuális. Elhangzott a híres „Non recuso laborem” jelmondat is, Ferenc atya örömét fejezte ki azzal kapcsolatban, hogy Bécsben, ahol oly sok magyar és székely él, az említett püspökökről tartanak konferenciát.

Felszólalt Magyarország bécsi nagykövete, Szalay-Bobrovniczky Vince, aztán Dr. Rétvári Bence magyar államtitkár üdvözölte a közönséget. A díszbeszédeket követően előtérbe kerültek a tudományos előadások. A közönség tartalmas, alapos és minőségi beszédeket hallott, hiszen több nézőpontból közelítették meg Márton Áron és Jakab Antal kihívásokkal teli életét. Neves történészek mellett egyházjogász, teológus, valamint szerkesztő is felszólalt, a programból nem maradt ki a püspöki életpálya, a szentté avatási folyamat és a letartóztatás témája sem. Csíkszéket Lázár Csilla, a csíkszentdomokosi Márton Áron Múzeum vezetője képviselte. Beszédében előtérbe helyezte a Márton Áron tiszteletet Erdélyben, szót ejtett legendákról, szobrokról és emlékhelyekről.

Az érdeklődő közönségnek lehetősége nyílt kérdezni, valamint az elhangzottak alapján véleményt nyilvánítani. A rendkívül sokoldalú és színes konferencia filmvetítéssel zárult. 

Traumspiele in Großstadien

Der Herbstbeginn hat mir tolle Erlebnisse gebracht. Es war Anfang Oktober als ich den lebenden Vulkan im Bukarester Stadion erlebt habe. Es bebte, das Stadion war überfüllt von fanatischen Zuschauern, die nichts anderes sehen wollten, als eine siegessichere rumänische Nationalelf, die die Ungarn zersplittert. So ist es gewesen, die höchstambitionierten Gastgeber ließen den ungarischen Torwart dreimal hinter sich greifen. Es ging 3-0 aus, die Stimmung war wie in der Hölle, heiß und brutal. Es ist ein echter Wahnsinn, was 45.000 extratreue Fans alles liefern können. Ich muss zugeben, alleine war ich auch nicht da. Ursprünglich hätte ich mit einem Freund gehen sollen, aber mein Vater kam in der früh zu mir und sagte, dass er mich begleiten will. So waren wir 3 Männer, die sich der Herausforderung stellten. Ein echter Hammer, so kann man den Abend am besten beschreiben.

Ein paar Wochen später hat sich für mich ein anderes Stadion das Tor geöffnet. Es war nichts geringeres als das imposante Camp Nou in Barcelona, wo die berühmte Heimmannschaft keine Gnade kennt. Beim 4-1 gegen Sociedad war ich mit einem anderen netten Freund von mir zusammen, der übrigens kein Fußball-Fan war. Er wollte einfach sehen, wie 65.000 Menschen für diese Sportart auf so eine unglaubliche Art und Weise schwärmen können. Ich muss ja zugeben, der Typ war nach 20 Minuten der größte Barca-Fan, den ich je gesehen habe. Offensichtlich, es kann auch nicht anders sein, wenn Messi, Neymar und co. den Ball so verzaubern, wie sie das tatsächlich auch können. Vom Publikum habe ich mehr erwartet, aber so ging es auch in Ordnung. Es gab kaum Gesang außer der Hymne, die Menschen waren eher still, sendeten das Ermutigungszeichen eher in Form von Applaus. Barca kann aber trotzdem nie langweilig sein...

Schließlich kam ich zurück in die Stadt, die mich seit 5 Jahren jeden Oktober so herzlich empfängt. Wien ist auch heuer wahnsinnig elegant, charmant und einzigartig. Ich freute mich aufs Wiedersehen, habe schnell aufs Eventkalender geschaut. Klasse! In der ersten Sekunde wurde ich auf das Spiel der Austria gegen Atletico im Champions League aufmerksam. Ich muss das sehen, sagte ich mir. Natürlich fand ich wieder einen Fußballliebhaber, der keine Grenzen kennt, wenn es sich um die Veilchen (Austria Wien) handelt. Zu meiner Anwesenheit im Stadion gehörte auch eine Portion Glück dazu. Meine engen Freunde, die zum Capitals-Alba Volan Hockey-Spiel gehen wollten, haben sich eine andere Beschäftigung gefunden, so habe ich die Qual der Wahl gehabt. Entweder gehe ich in die Schulz-Halle (Hockey), oder wähle ich das Happel-Stadion. Allzu viel musste ich ja auch nicht denken, schnell habe ich die Entscheidung getroffen, dass ich den Fußball-Abend nicht verpassen will. So rief ich meinen netten polnischen Freund an, der sich auf meine Wahl gefreut hatte. So gingen wir zusammen ins Stadion, wo sich insgesamt 45.000 Fans befanden. Die waschechten Fans der Austria haben für eine tolle Choreographie gesorgt, obwohl der Auftritt der Spieler alles andere als überzeugend war. Wie die Kaninchen im Wald haben sich die Austrianer auf dem Feld verhalten, die Sensation blieb aus, 0-3. Atletico gewinnt die Partie und der erste Platz in der Gruppe bleibt ungefährdet.

So, liebe Leserinnen und Leser, das sind meine fußballbezogenen Erinnerungen vom Herbstbeginn.

Néveredetek kérdése a román-magyar vb-selejtezőn

Szeptember elején már kipipálta bukaresti vendégszereplését a magyar labdarúgó válogatott. A román fővárosban rendezett vb-selejtező eredményét, statisztikáját és visszhangját már többször is hallottuk. Természetesen a focit gólra játszák, így az eredmény a lényeg. Általában.

Az én esetemben a szeptemberi mérkőzés többet jelentett. Sokan kérdezték előtte, hogy kinek szurkolok, milyen eredményre tippelek, melyik tribünben fogok ülni. Ilyenkor nehéz okos választ adni, szinte azt lehetne mondani, hogy minden válasz magyarázatot kíván. Ez azért van így, mert mindig lehet érvelni az egyik vagy a másik variáns mellett. Főleg ha külföldön él az ember, szinte minden nap el kell magyaráznia más nemzet fiainak, hogy miért magyar az anyanyelve a romániai születési hely és az ott eltöltött évek ellenére. Egy kis történelem leckével kell előrukkolni, de nem is gond, mi székelyek türelmesen tudunk erről beszélni. 

Ami a meccset illeti: én azt mondtam, hogy mindegy, csak döntetlen ne legyen. Mert én a sportot néztem. Arra figyeltem, hogy igazából mindegy ki győz, mert a diadalmaskodó csapat könnyen pótselejtezőbe juthat. Döntetlen esetén viszont a törökök kerültek volna igen jó helyzetbe. Végül a románok győztek és másodikok lettek a csoportban (play-off). Ez így rendben is van! Örültem a sikernek!

Azért is örültem a román győzelemnek, mert mindamellett, hogy a magyar nemzeti 11 messze az elvárások alatt teljesített, el lehet gondolkodni azon is, hogy kinek is szurkolunk mi. A nevek szintjén szeretnék maradni, mert valóban érdekes tényekre tudunk felfigyelni. Ki szeretném viszont hangsúlyozni, hogy nem áll szándékomban senki identitását megkérdőjelezni, nem szeretnék senkit sem megbántani. 

Fel szeretném hívni a figyelmet arra, hogy érdemes elemezni a két csapat játékosainak néveredetét. Vehetjük a két játékoskeretet, azokat a labdarúgókat, akik a selejtezőben képviselték a két országot. Kiemelnék néhány nevet:

Magyar csapat: Guzmics, Dzsudszák, Koman, Lovrencsics, Bogdán, Nikolic, Lipták, Vanczák

Román csapat: Lobonț, Raț, Chiricheș, Gardoș, Lazăr, Keseru, Marica, Bucur (edző: Victor Pițurcă)

Egyértelmű, hogy a név nem árul el mindent az eredetről. Nem is mondom azt, hogy problémának látom ezt a nevek szintjén jelentkező jelenséget, viszont éppen ezért nehéz sokszor eldönteni, hogy kinek szurkoljon a székely... Látványosan felgyorsult a világ, dominál a globalizáció, változnak a nemzetek, az állampolgárságok. Ez magával hozza a fent említett nevek szintjén jelentkező érdekességet is. Jó ezzel a gondolattal játszadozni, és talán megéri azon is töprengeni, hogy az említett fiatalemberek ezelőtt 100 évvel melyik válogatottat erősítették volna...

Novák a cucerit un nou titlu de campion mondial!

Campionul paralimpic Carol-Eduard Novák a câștigat proba de contratimp la CM de Paraciclism. La competiția desfășurată în Canada, Eduard s-a impus cu un avans de 5 secunde și 59 de sutimi în fața rivalului său de naționalitate cehă, Jiri Jezek.

Proba de 25,9 km a fost ultima cursă a zilei, rutierul echipei Tusnad Cycling Team fiind penultimul care a pornit pe traseu. 16 sportivi au participat la proba categoriei C4 unde printre favoriți s-au numărat Novák, Jezek, Alcaide și Bouska. La capătul unei bătălii strânse pentru medalia de aur, cei trei sportivi de pe podium au fost separați de doar zece secunde.

Podiumul concursului: 1. Carol-Eduard Novak ROU 36:22.51, 2. Jiri Jezek CZE +5.59  3. Diego German Duenas Gomez +9.90 COL

La categoria C2, Attila Oláh s-a clasat pe locul 20, la aproape 4 minute în spatele lui Aaron Keith (USA), noul campion mondial.

Cei doi sportivi din lotul României vor lua startul și la cursele de fond care vor avea loc duminică.

Campionatul Mondial de Paraciclism

Președintele Federației Române de Ciclism, Carol-Eduard Novák, s-a deplasat în Canada pentru a participa la Campionatul Mondial de Paraciclism pe șosea. Competiția rezervată cicliștilor cu dizabilități se va desfășura între 29 august și 1 septembrie la Baie-Comeau. Triplu campion mondial la categoria sa, și campion en-titre la contratimpul individual de la Roskilde în anul 2011, Eduard va lua startul la concursurile grupei C4. El va porni mai întâi la contratimp individual, o probă de 25,9 kilometri ce va avea loc vineri. Două zile mai târziu, duminică, Novák se va afla și la startul probei clasice de 80 km.

Eduard nu este singurul sportiv din delegația României. Alături de marele campion harghitean va mai concura și Attila Oláh, concurentul echipei Tusnad Cycling Team va participa la concursurile categoriei C2.

Turul Ciclist al Ținutului Secuiesc - Etapa 3A Rezumat

Ultima zi de concurs din Turul Ciclist al Ținutului Secuiesc a început cu prima semi-etapă de sâmbătă. Este vorba despre un contratimp individual ce s-a desfășurat pe o distanță de 6 km. Semi-etapa montană, în care cicliștii au avut de urcat până în stațiunea montană Băile Harghita, a rezervat mai multe surprize. Cei 67 de sportivi s-au străduit să încerce să reducă din diferențele din clasamentul general. Mulți cicliști aveau încă șanse la tricoul albastru, dat fiind faptul că ecartul între primii șase cicliști era de doar 30 de secunde. Într-un contratimp de acest gen această diferență nu este una prea mare, cum s-a dovedit și la sfârșitul semi-etapei 3A. Rutierii care au reușit un timp de sub 13 minute puteau să aibă speranțe la victorie. Nu s-a întâmplat altfel deoarece primul care a înregistrat acest timp foarte bun a fost italianul de la Utensilnord, Alessandro Mazzi. Acesta a fost mult timp în fotoliul de lider, însă la final au sosit și favoriții. Dublu campion în Turul Secuiesc, ucraineanul Vitaliy Popkov n-a avut milă, a preluat conducerea cu peste 30 de secunde avans. Acesta s-a dovedit a fi hotărât să preia tricoul albastru de lider în clasamentul general. Următorii sportivi, Nechita, Braico și Kusztor, aveau nevoie de o performanță asemănătoare (sub 13 minute) ca să urce în clasament. Până la urmă, rutierul român nu l-a depășit pe Mazzi, în schimb Braico și Kusztor s-au descurcat de minune, chiar dacă au rămas cu mult în urma lui Popkov. Au urmat apoi cei trei favoriți care erau direct implicați în lupta pentru tricoul albastru. Belgianul Evrard de la echipa Wallonie Bruxelles a reușit să se apropie de Popkov, însă până și el a acumulat un handicap de 24 de secunde. A urmat câștigătorul etapei precedente, bulgarul Georgi Georgiev. Rutierul de la echipa Brisaspor (Turcia) a fost singurul care a reușit să păstreze șanse la victoria finală. Cu toate că a rămas cu 18 secunde în urmă, Georgiev rămânea în fața lui Popkov la general. Măcar atât! Mai era un singur concurent pe traseu, Vitaliy Buts. Cel de la Kolss Cycling Team era în albastru însă nu s-a împrietenit cu cățărarea de la Harghita și a suferit o înfrângere dramatică. Cu o întârziere de 1 minut și o secundă, Buts ieșea din cărți. Era clar că soarta tricoului Tusnad rămâne în mâinile celor doi: Georgiev și Popkov. 

Turul Ciclist al Ținutului Secuiesc - Etapa II - Rezumat

Vineri, la data de 9 August, cicliștii din plutonul Turului Secuiesc au avut de parcurs 180,5 km. Am asistat la ”etapa rege” a competiției, asta pentru că rutierii au avut o zi dramatică din care nu au lipsit cățărările epuizante. După startul de la ora 11, cei 79 de sportivi rămași în concurs după prima etapă au urcat în Munții Harghita unde prima cățărare a avut loc la Pasul Vlăhița. Rutierul de la TCT, Oleg Berdos a ajuns primul la linia sprintului montan. Acesta și-a mărit astfel avansul la conducerea ierarhiei cățărătorilor. Apoi a urmat o aventură a trei cicliști: Eduard Novak, Zsolt Der și belgianul Bertholet au pornit într-o evadare. Logic, cei trei au fost primii la cățărările de la Homorod (cat. C) și de la Pasul Liban (cat. B), însă au fost prinși de pluton după sprintul de la Gheorgheni. Singurul care a supraviețuit a fost rutierul echipei maghiare Utensilnord, experimentatul Zsolt Der, care a rezistat până la intrarea în Miercurea Ciuc. Cu 15 km înainte de final, la ultimul sprint intermediar, ciclistul de la TCT, Zoltan Sipos era pe prima poziție. A urmat ultima urcare, una decisivă. Fără evadați în fața plutonului, bulgarul Georgi Georgiev a fost cel mai bun strateg. Acesta s-a adaptat repede ritmului bun impus de echipa Kolss, aceștia au luptat din greu să-l mențină în tricoul albastru pe Vitaliy Buts, câștigătorul primei etape. La ultima cățărare, însă, Georgiev s-a dovedit a fi mai puternic. Rutierul bulgar al echipei turce Brisaspor a pornit ca din tun, iar reacția adversarilor întârzia să apară. La Băile Harghita spectatorii au avut de văzut o victorie frumoasă a bulgarului care a fost urmat de Buts și de Braico, primul om al celor de la Tusnad.

Clasamentul general a rămas în mâinile ucraineanului Vitaliy Buts, acesta este în continuare lider, la fel ca în ierarhia sprinerilor. N-a suferit modificări nici clasamentul celor mai buni cățărători, pe primul loc a rămas Berdos, după cele 2 victorii la cățărări de categoria B. Cel mai bun tânăr a devenit astăzi Milos Borisavljevic de la echipa națională a Serbiei, iar tricoul alb ce îi revine celui mai bun român, rămâne să fie purtat de Andrei Nechita.

Sâmbătă urmează două semi-etape. De la ora 10 are loc un contratimp individual la Harghita. Sportivii vor pleca din minut în minut, iar după finalul concursului urmează imediat un concurs rezervat amatorilor. Ultima semi-etapă începe tot sâmbătă, de la ora 17, atunci când sportivii vor avea de pedalat 130 km, o bună parte din această distanță va fi străbătută pe străzile municipiului Miercurea Ciuc.

Turul Ciclist al Ținutului Secuiesc - Etapa I - Rezumat

Prima etapă a Turului Ciclist al Ținutului Secuiesc a început joi la ora 11. După startul festiv de la Piața Libertății din centrul municipiului Miercurea Ciuc, rutierii au plecat la ieșirea orașului de unde s-a dat startul tehnic. Cei 87 de rutieri din plutonul turului au pornit într-o etapă de 184 km, una tradițională ce trece prin județul Covasna.

Cicliștii au avut de suportat o căldură adevărată de vară dar și trei sprinturi intermediare înainte de singura cățărare din programul de joi. Primul sprint a avut loc la Tușnad, în apropierea sediului producătorului de apă minerală ce poartă același nume. La primul timp intermediar, rutierul român Andrei Nechita s-a clasat pe primul loc. Plutonul a fost unul compact, fără ca unii rutieri să reușească evadări semnificative. A urmat sprintul de la Sfântu Gheorghe, unde istoria s-a repetat. Același rutier român a ajuns primul, el fiind urmat de belgianul Dernies de la echipa Wallonie Bruxelles. Acesta din urmă s-a impus la sprintul intermediar de la Târgu Secuiesc. În județul Covasna mulți fani s-au doedit a fi extrem de curioși în ceea ce privește desfășurarea concursului. În fiecare oraș a existat interes major, suporterii au susținut sportivii de la marginea traseului.

Singura cățărare a zilei a urmat la Pasul Nyerges cu 30 km înainte de sosire. La urcarea de categoria B, rutierul echipei gazdă Tusnad Cycling Team, Oleg Berdos a reușit să preia conducerea, astfel acumulând 20 de puncte pentru clasamentul cățărătorilor.

Ritmul concursului a fost unul extrem de ridicat, concurenții au sosit într-un ritm infernal la linia de finish. În urma unui sprint incendiar la care au asistat sute de persoane, ucraineanul Vitaliy Buts s-a impus cu o jumătate de roată avans în fața lui Ivan Stevic. Cei doi au dat o bătălie strânsă pentru prima poziție.

La cinci minute după sosirea primilor sportivi a început festivitatea de premiere. După înmânarea premiului ce îi revine câștigătorului de etapă, același Vitaliy Buts a îmbrăcat și tricoul albastru ce îi revine liderului în clasamentul general. Pe primul loc pe puncte, după sprinturile de astăzi, s-a clasat românul Andrei Nechita care este totodată și cel mai bun rutier român din pluton. Tricoul galben, cel al celui mai bun cățărător, a fost îmbrăcat de Oleg Berdos, iar pe prima poziție în clasamentul celor mai buni tineri de sub 23 de ani se află după prima zi de concurs bulgarul Aleksandar Alexeev.

Vineri este programată etapa rege cu trei cățărări de categoria B, una de categoria C și cu sosirea în stațiunea montană Băile Harghita. Startul festiv se dă la ora 10:50 în Piața Libertății din Miercurea Ciuc.

Campionatul Balcanic de ciclism pe șosea

Municipiul Miercurea Ciuc a găzduit pe 3 și 4 august Campionatul Balcanic de ciclism pe șosea pentru cadeți și juniori. La startul competiției s-au prezentat 73 de sportivi din 10 țări diferite: Albania, Bosnia & Herțegovina, Bulgaria, Cipru, Grecia, Macedonia, Republica Moldova, România, Serbia și Turcia.

Concursul s-a desfășurat în partea nordică a orașului harghitean, Șumuleu-Ciuc fiind baza competiției balcanice. Organizatorii au creat un tur de 6 km cu linia de start/finish desenată chiar lângă Catedrala Franciscană de la Șumuleu. Plecând de la binecunoscuta biserică, cicliștii au virat la stânga spre strada Câmpul Mare, apoi au ajuns pe strada Toplița care i-a dus până în apropierea Liceului Marton Aron, unde printr-un nou viraj la stânga au ajuns pe strada Szek pe care au pedalat până la sosire. În funcție de proba zilei, sportivii au absolvit mai multe tururi de circuit.

După ședința tehnică de vineri, prima zi de concurs a fost ziua de sâmbătă pe care au fost programate două curse de contratimp. Mai întâi au pornit cadeții, un număr de 26 de sportivi care au plecat din minut în minut. La această categorie de vârstă (anul nașterii 1997/1998), cicliștii au avut de completat 2 tururi, pedalând astfel 12 km. Prima întrecere s-a încheiat fericit pentru delegația României. Emil Dima a câștigat medalia de bronz pentru reprezentativa țării noastre. Campion Balcanic a devenit cipriotul Michael Christodoulos, un tânăr simpatic din echipa Ciprului care a sărbătorit prima lui victorie în afara țării sale. Pe treapta a doua a podiumului a urcat bulgarul Nikolay Genov.

A urmat o pauză de o oră după care s-a trecut la contratimpul individual pentru juniori mari, cei născuț în anul 1996 sau 1995. Acești sportivi au absolvit trei tururi, ajungând la sorire după 18 km. Proba a fost una extrem de animată, s-a dat o bătălie strânsă pentru medalii. La sfârșit, câștig de cauză a avut sportivul bulgar Valentin Neshev care s-a impus în fața turcului Onur Balkan și a macedoneanului Jovan Jovanoski.

În după amiaza zilei de sâmbătă a avut loc prezentarea echipelor. Pe o scenă imensă amplasată pe Piața Libertății din reședința județului Harghita au urcat toate cele 10 echipe, dar și președintele Uniunii Balcanice de Ciclism, domnul Emin Muftuoglu. Acesta a rostit doar fraze frumoase către organizatori și spectatori, apoi le-a urat succes sportivilor. După prezentarea a nouă echipe participante, ultima reprezentativă care a urcat pe scenă a fost cea a României. În aplauzele spectatorilor prezenți în apropierea scenei, tinerii cicliști români au făcut un pas în față și au salutat spectatorii după ce și-au auzit numele rostit de moderatorul multilingv al competiției, Elod Pal-Pal. Acesta a stat de vorbă cu antrenorul lotului nostru de juniori, domnul Viorel Grosu, care a fost vizibil surprins de atmosfera festivă creată de oamenii prezenți la eveniment. Fiind foarte optimist dar și realist, după cum s-a dovedit mai târziu, antrenorul le-a promis celor prezenți în Piața Libertății că duminică România va câștiga o medalie de aur.

Ziua de duminică, una la fel de însorită și călduroasă ca cea de sâmbătă, a programat două curse de fond. Una pentru cadeți cealalta pentru categoria juniorilor mari. La cadeți, pe o distanță de 60 km, adică parcurgerea de 10 ori a circuitului de 6 km din oraș, victoria i-a revenit lui Djolay Zarkovic. Rutierul sârb a fost urmat de reprezentantul Turciei, Sefa Bulbul. Podiumul a fost completat de conaționalul câștigătorului, Dusan Rajovic.

A urmat concursul final al Balcaniadei, proba de 90 km a juniorilor mari. La capătul unui concurs superb în care favoriții au căutat permanent supremația, românul Lucian Buga s-a încoronat cu succes! Rutierul țării noastre a câștigat medalia de aur în fața albanezului Iltjan Nika. Serbia a completat podiumul prin Dusan Kalaba.

După marele succes al lui Buga a urmat și momentul în care acesta a urcat pe cea mai înaltă treaptă a podiumului. La festivitatea de premiere din fața Casei de Cultură din localitate, președintele Federației Române de Ciclism, Carol Eduard Novak le-a mulțumit sportivilor pentru participare, a pomenit de efortul persoanelor din comitetul de organizare și le-a urat tinerilor mult succes în carieră. În minutele care au urmat după discursul președintelui, sportivii și-au primit medaliile, s-au bucurat de rezultatele obținute, iar spectatorii și-au manifestat admirația prin aplauze puternice.

În urma competiției internaționale de la Miercurea Ciuc, campionul paralimpic de la Londra, proaspăt instalatul președinte al FRC, Eduard Novak s-a dovedit mulțumit de evenimentul sportiv: „Concursul a fost unul reușit, organizatorii au primit multe aprecieri din partea țărilor participante. Cea mai mare reușită a fost că România a obținut două medalii: una de aur prin Lucian Buga, și una de bronz prin Emil Dima. Vreau să-i felicit pe această cale pe organizatorii voluntari, Arpad Santa și Sandor Salamon, și pe toți membrii TCT pentru securizarea drumului. Îl felicit și pe domnul Viorel Grosu, antrenorul lotului național de juniori, pentru contribuția adusă.”

Cycling Tour of Szeklerland

The Cycling Tour of Szeklerland, one of the most prestigious cycling events in Romania arrived to his 7^th edition. Between the 7^th and 10^th August, cycling takes priority on the roads of Szeklerland. Within the competition which lasts three days, the racers will face difficult stages with many climbings and stunning sprints. The Cycling Tour of Szeklerland is organized by the city council of Miercurea Ciuc, Sfantu Gheorghe, Targu Secuiesc and Gheorgheni, respectively by the county councils of Harghita and Covasna, the County’s Sports and Youth Directorate, Tusnad Cycling Team and Ciuc Sports Association.

New partners

The main sponsor of this sport event is once again the mineral water producer S.C. Apemin Tusnad S.A. The list of other main sponsors is completed by HopeSped, Bellotto and Marien Presso. Other partners supporting the race are: Tess, Mol, Fenestela, MedExpert, Waberer’s and Shimano.

Stages

The race begins on Thursday as the cyclists will ride to Covasna county. There will be three intermediate sprints on the first day. They will take place in Tusnad, Targu Secuiesc and Sfantu Gheorghe. As well, the sportsmen will face a challenging climb at Pasul Nyerges.

The second race day includes the king stage of this year’s event. There are three B category climbings (Pasul Vlahita twice, Pasul Liban) and one C category uphill segment on the race map on Friday. The intermediate sprints from Vlahita, Gheorgheni and Miercurea Ciuc will bring much joy for the evolution of this stage.

The last day consists of two half-stages. On Saturday morning, the uphill individual time trial will cause difficult minutes for all the riders due to the mountain conditions in the arrival area. Beside this, the second half-stage starts at 5 pm in Miercurea Ciuc, goes through Racu and Frumoasa and finally arrives back to the town for completing a 17 x 5.5 km long circuit track on the streets.

Newcomer: the white jersey

The overall money prices awarded this year at the Cycling Tour of Szeklerland are € 11 512. Prices will be awarded to the top 20 riders finishing a stage and to the top 30 cyclists in the final general classification. There are five different jerseys to be given to the best sportsmen. The leader of the general classification will wear the blue jersey, sponsored by the main sponsor “Tusnad”. The first placed rider in the points ranking takes the red-black jersey brought by HopeSped. Just like in the previous years, the best climber will be the proud possessor of the yellow coloured “Csikszereda” jersey. An award goes to the best U23 rider, the green jersey, sponsored by the Marien Presso, will be handed over to the best youngster. A novelty this year is the appearance of the white jersey for the best Romanian cyclist. This one is provided by the famous producer of bicycle equipment and sportswear, Bellotto.

Memories from a sold-out football stadium

Being in touch with sport events belongs to my lifestyle and destiny. I can't remember a day when I neglected following the sport phenomenon. But one thing is to keep in touch with it and another feeling is to be a witness of a live story.

It happened to me yesterday as I entered the Viennese Ernst Happel Stadium. Austria met Sweden in the qualifiers for the football World Cup. No surprise, just as usual, 48.000 fans created a sensational atmosphere. They sang the famous Austrian song "I am from Austria" and emphasised the good mood by clapping the hands for the "Radetzky-Marsch". I took some memorable pictures and expected a highly intense match between two sides which needed the victory in order to keep their chances for the second place in the qualification group.

The spectacular atmosphere brought the expected effect on the developing game. The Swedes began better but a foul of the Scandinavian goalkeeper on the opponent brought a penalty for the home side. Alaba scored for 1-0, the stadium was boiling. Few minutes later, Harnik centrred for a unique header of Janko who lifted the score to 2-0. Quite unbelievable, the crowd loses control.

The second half didn't show much in comparison to the first. The home team tried to maintain the result, the Swedes had less chance to shorten the difference. It happened late in the game that Elmander reduced the score to 2-1, but it seemed to be too late for Ibrakadabra and his mates to achieve a draw in Vienna.

The final whistle caused a real explosion among the supporters who finally saw a great national team with big efforts and huge aims. It remains to be seen if the Austrians will manage to keep the second place in the group until the end of the preliminary round. What I already know is the fact that the people in the sold-out stadium offered an unbelievable experience on a pleasant summer night.

Műsorvezetés egy páratlan emlékrendezvényen

Nagy igazság, hogy az ember akkor kezdi értékelni kultúráját, amikor nem találkozik vele minden nap, feltűnik hiánya. Így gondolom én is négy év bécsi egyetem után, de ennél erősebben fejezhetik ki ezt a gondolatot azok a magyar ajkú Németországban tanult diákok, akik a második világháború és az 1956-os magyarországi forradalom szörnyű végkimenetele következtében Nyugat-Európa felé vették az irányt. Azok az emberek nem kívántak elszakadni magyarságuktól, kultúrájuktól, identitásuktól, tehát keresték és megtalálták a módot arra, hogy magyarok maradjanak!

A Burg Kastl Magyar Gimnázium 1958-ban alakult Bajorországban. Évtizedeken keresztül színvonalas tanítást biztosított az anyaországot elhagyó fiatalok számára. Fennmaradtak a magyar értékek, zajlott az ékes nyelv ápolása, befogadókra lelt a szellemi hagyaték, egyszóval élt a magyar lélek. A múlt század derekán útjára induló gimnázium 2006-ig zavartalanul működött. Egykori diákjai éltetik emlékét, hiszen május 11-én emlékrendezvényt szerveztek Bécsben. Megtiszteltetés számomra, hogy a  Collegium Hungaricumban megrendezett eseménynek műsorvezetője lehettem. Ilyenkor az ember átérzi a valamikori és a jelenkori helyzetet, az intézmény értékét, a hagyaték súlyát. Előtérbe kerülnek a gimnáziumi évek, nosztalgiázás veszi kezdetét, de mindennél fontosabb az, hogy milyen gazdag tarisznyával engedi útjára a ballagó diákot az iskolája! Páratlan érzés!

A rendezvényen kiállításra kerültek Müller György, a kastli gimnázium egykori tanárának fafaragó alkotásai, és fellépett a müncheni Vidám Regős Asszony Néptáncegyüttes. Az iskola történetéről előadást tartott az egykori diák Tarnai László, végül pedig a Burg Kastl Alumni Egyesületnek adott át Ex Libris-díjat Gubcsi Lajos, a Magyar Művészetért Alapítvány kuratóriumának elnöke. A díj történetének bemutatása alkalmat adott nekem arra, hogy büszkén megemlítsem, szeretett iskolám, a csíkszeredai Márton Áron Gimnázium is átvehette már az ismert díjat. Kijelentésemet erős taps követte, ami ugyancsak felemelő volt! A színes, változatos program végén együtt énekeltük el a Gaudeamust, és emlékeztünk iskolás éveinkre.

Leckere Blitzprüfung zum Frühstück

Nach dem erholsamen Feiertag am Donnerstag, als wir die Himmelfahrt Christi imaginär vor die Augen führten, kehrten wir heute früh wieder zurück in den Alltag. Der sonnige Freitag Morgen begann mit der Übung Fachübersetzen, wie es schon immer der Fall war. Normalerweise nehmen wir Texte aus unterschiedlichen Fachbereichen durch, quälen uns mit ihnen, und liefern eine rasante Übersetzung. Diesmal war es wieder nicht anders, doch jetzt ging es gegen die Stopperuhr.

Die Blitzprüfung dauerte 30 Minuten. Aufgabe war die Übersetzung von 15 Sätzen, die aus zwei voneinander völlig abweichenden Fachgebieten war. Ein Teil davon bezog sich auf die Entstehung des Menschen anhand der Evolutionstheorie, während es sich im zweiten Text um die Insekten handelte. Keine Sorge, die Texte haben wir schon gekannt, weil wir uns im vergangenen Monat mit diesen Themen intensiv auseinandergesetzt haben.

Die Schwierigkeit bei diesen schnellen Tests besteht in der Gewährleistung von Präzision und Genauigkeit. Es bleibt wenig Zeit für Korrektur, und natürlich sehen Nachbesserungen am Blatt fürchterlich aus. Deswegen ist genaues Arbeiten angesagt, volle Konzentration ist erforderlich. An manchen Stellen, wo man sich weniger sicher ist, beginnt das Kopfzerbrechen. Dabei ist auch viel Entscheidungskraft gefragt, denn es lohnt sich nicht an die Problemstelle zurückzukommen. Die erste Intuition führt besser ins Ziel, daran sind aber die Mädchen zu beneiden. Bei ihnen ist dieses Gefühl besser oder wenigstens wirksamer entwickelt und das lässt sich nicht nur beim Übersetzen spüren...

Nostalgie im Vorfeld einer Moderation

Am Samstag findet eine Gedenkenveranstaltung für das Ungarische Gymnasium von Burg Kastl statt. Der Organisator des Ereignisses ist der Europa-Klub aus Wien, ein ungarisches Kulturinstitut, das sich für den Zusammenhalt der Ungarn in der österreichischen Hauptstadt und für die Pflege ungarischer Kultur einsetzt. Ich habe die Ehre, die im Collegium Hungaricum ausgetragene Veranstaltung moderieren zu dürfen. Zum Event werden zahlreiche Gäste erwartet, sowohl ehemalige SchülerInnen des bayerischen Instituts (Burg Kastl), als auch andere Interessierte, die Einblick in das Schülerleben von damals gewinnen möchten. Wissenswert ist, dass das Gymnasium der Bildung emmigrierten ungarischen Kinder (und nicht nur Kinder) diente, die nach der Revolution von 56 ihre Heimat verließen. 

Das neue zuhause fanden sie in Bayern. Auf dem Weg von Passau nach Nürnberg befindet sich der bereits erwähnte Ort Burg Kastl. In der ehemaligen Benediktiner Abtei erhielten die Ungarn die Möglichkeit, im imposanten Gebäude weiterlernen zu können. 1958 begann dort der Unterricht, und ging bis 2006 durchgehend weiter. Die Schule galt als Pfleger ungarischer Kultur, wo die Traditionen, Bräuche und die Sprache bewahrt wurden. 

Im Institut lernten SchülerInnen aus unterschiedlichen sozialen Schichten. Man erfuhr vieles über das Leben des anderen, über die schönen Faktoren, aber auch über die Schattenseiten, die sonst unsichtbar gewesen wären. Das kann zurecht als größter Schatz des Gymnasiums genannt werden: Das vorbildliche Miteinander von Menschen, die unabhängig von sozialer Angehörigkeit zusammen lebten. Das fing in der früh an und setzte sich bis zum Abend fort, die Tätigkeiten waren ständiger Natur, begrenzten sich nicht auf den Unterricht in der Schule. 

Das Verdienst des Instituts widerspiegelt sich auch in der Tatsache, dass es bis 2006 bestand. Der eiserne Vorhang ist 1989 gefallen, aber viele Eltern entschieden sich für Kastl als Bildungsstätte ihrer Kinder. Trotz der Einstellung des Unterrichtes lebt die Tradition der Schule noch immer weiter. Der Alumni Verband funktioniert als eingetragener Verband im offiziellen Rahmen. Die Mitglieder pflegen die Kontakte zwischen ehemaligen SchülerInnen, und organisieren Klassentreffen, sogar Treffen aller Abiturienten, die ins Gymnasium gingen. 2008 freute sich der Verband auf zahlreiche Gäste aus aller Welt, die an der Feier anlässlich des 50. Jubiläums erschienen sind. 

Am Samstag gedenken wir des Gymnasiums, hören interessante Präsentationen an und freuen uns auf die Tanzproduktion von kulturbegeisterten Frauen, die ihre Kunst einst im Gymnasium von Burg Kastl erlernt haben.
